I would also like to draw your attention to this wikipedia article, claiming John Denver was "born" in Roswell, NM.

Red Flower and I recently had a chance to tour the old Nevada Test Site in that area, checking out all the craters from the underground tests and the big open Sedan crater that was a pilot for earthmoving projects. Lots of interesting stuff went on over there.
