methinks you are still missing the point our young friend so I'll elaborateThe bolts aren't really my problem, but the grivory is. I need new grivory because I cannot afford micarta right now.
bolts and nuts are hardened steel, harder than your 1095, reason he said engine bolts is many rookies have stripped their aluminum(soft) engine block and heads. very expensive to fix.
if you overtighten any bolt in just about everything it is going to crack,jam,split, strip, break........
Tighten to where you feel good tension and snug 1/8 turn
Just trying to save your newly donated scales and possibly any car or self assembled ikea furniture.
