I ordered a sheath from Martin Swinkle about 7 weeks ago for my ESEE-4. Well it still isn't here and Martin sent it roughly 5-6 weeks ago. Martin has been great about responding to my emails wanting to know where it is. i emailed him earlier today wanting to know what he has found out.
What would y'all do? I feel like asking for a refund but at the same time I really want to try one of his sheaths.

my sheath took 2 weeks to arrive from the netherlands, and that was during the summer. there could be some delays due to the weather.

I would say give it another couple weeks.
Good things come to those who wait, right?
International shipping can be slow with unexpected delays.
Hope you see it soon though.

That sucks man, I decided to go with another guy in my state.

I don't like international orders.

Hope you get it soon, is there anyway you can track the package?

when you get it I would love to see some pics.....

Im in the netherlands and some stuff from the states takes ages to arrive. One hick-up in either(or both) customs office can add weeks...

I've had stuff go from RI to NYC take 6 weeks. It's one in a million, but sometimes packages get "dissapeared" in the postal system then mysteriously show up.

I know it's still no consolation for not having you sheath, but it happens.

Get tracking next time.

For what it's worth, it took 4 weeks for a book I ordered from the U.S. to get here (Southern Ontario, Canada). (Just came day before yesterday).

I think because of the proximity of the holidays, delays are inevitable.

Doc

Have you called the post office and opened a case yet?

As for Martin... It's not really his problem.
If you didn't specify to add tracking or insurance, then you're the one who takes the loss.
That said, I've heard he is a great guy. Hopefully y'all can work something out.

This is what Martin Swinkles sent me the first of january. I ordered the sheath the first of December.
"Barcode is: 3SRZ013422299. I shipped with TNT post, and it will be delivered by USPS.
This is not a trackingnumber, but the "signed for" receipt number. I can make a claim 5 weeks after I shipped the package, so not much we can do now but hang in there and twist our thumbs."

That email shows that Martin fulfilled his end of the deal in good faith. Hang in there and hopefully the yahoos in the various postal services will do their jobs. Europe has many holidays that we do not which might be a cause of a delay. I have never heard anything bad about Martin or his products. You should be very happy when it arrives.

The USPS usually doesn't have too many problems in country, but as the rest have said, I have shipped overseas and it can take awhile. Just keep at it and open up a claim when you can, everything should pan out!

I trust Martin and know he is doing what he can. I'm just aggravated at the situation. I was going to send him a few nice knives to have sheaths made for but now I am not thinking I will do that. My knives may go missing too.

I ordered a Kukuri that was shipped from Nepal with TNT and it took nearly 2 months.
Later I received a handling bill from them too!!!:mad:
At least it made it?

All movement of packages has been slowed due to increased security measures. Been a few events the last couple months that have slowed things up.

Give it some more time.

Martin's sheaths are awesome.

Good luck. I made kilts years ago and had to ship fabric from scotland and customs can be so unpredictable. Just when you are about to blow a gasket the *^##~£*package shows up on your door. Sometimes a two week ship time and sometimes things get held up. Even had ups try and bill me an extra $100 give or take for "customs" expenses.

i have not ordered any thing from other countrys but i have been waiting on a firesteel loop for almost 3 weeks now that started in Michigan that should have only taken a week at most, only thing i can say or offer in the way explination is sh*t happens sometimes and u gotta wait longer than normal

You can't track it with that number but the post office should be able to do it internally. I had a similar problem after third person I got they tracked it with the number. But like an earlier post you need to open a case. I have had mail from other sates end up i'n my mailbox not just neighbors and it's happening more frequently. Still trying to figure the other state thing. Hope it turns up
