Ugh, misplaced my knife.

Lost my customized Benchmade Mini Grip in a Chuck E. Cheese, of all places! It never turned up again...at least not in my hands. I imagine some kid stumbled upon it later, which may or may not have ended well. Lol!
Ha, you just made some little pick pockets day, and got a new generation started on a their collection.

I have misplaced my CRKT M-16 Tanto. It is in my house somewhere.I just don't have the drive to look for it. It does bug me a bit that something of mine is not readily available for inspection or use. It probably has a bit of rust on it by now. My other ...45 plus knives are well secured in their rightful place.

This August I lost my Hold Out II to some crooked security officers and personnel who took many items from me and unsuccessfully tried to put charges against me for possession of illegal weapons, but I was able to prove that they fell within specs of the current Spanish law.
No charges, but they took the thing (Also a Leatherman Crunch, MP800 and the two SAKs in this pic). Currently on a legal battle against them for unlawfully making my stuff "disappear"

also I lost my DF2 for an entire month and I was so upset, it finally appeared under a pile of books that had been there for that same month, what a relief!

Anybody ever misplace a knife and did it ever turn back up? Did you too drive yourself nuts looking for It?

Haha are you kiddin' me? :D I misplace the mall the time. I'm so OCD over them that I notice when something's missin' within an hour of missin' it. For me any knife is misplaced unless I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is irretrievable as in I saw it fall off an ocen liner into the middle of the ocean. (If I was within the 12 mile limit I'd probably still spend time draggin' with a magnet and long rope. ;) )

The longest a knife was misplaced and still retrieved was 3-5 years for a BM Mini Reflex lost back in the 90s, went missin' somewhere from 3-5 years and was found. I never gave up. I walked the places I might have lost it. I searched my vehicles and those of friends over and over till they were annoyed that I knew what was in their trucks better than they did. ;) :) I never threw out a piece of furniture that I didn't decimate and completely cut up and break apart. Any vehicle that had gone to scrap was gone over with a fine to Oh comb before it was sent off to the scrapyard. I dragged the yard with a giant stainless clad magnet every spring and fall for the first and last few weeks of lawn cuttin' season.

Funny thing, I found it completely by accident in a place I wasn't even lookin.. So don't give up hope until someone sends you a ransom note. I got one of those once, I had lost an expensive custom and had looked for weeks, the Mrs found it in a beach bag where I had put it when we went to the Jersey Shore. One Friday afternoon I had gotten an email done in the ransom font, (the kind where it looks like cut out letters from a magazine) It said ...

Needless to say, no knives were harmed that night and knife was returned the next morning with a cup of coffee and a note that just had this on it
