That thing looks like a caterpillar that is warning you that it is poisonous.
The only thing that bothers me on mine is the aluminum guard. It really dates it to like post ww2. I have a nice heavy brass guard sitting around and working on a swap to give it an older look and may post a oic when done if anyone cares to see it. What really puzzles me is the scabbard. Give a sense of factory made and color of intense fighting knife.

I don’t know, it’s kinda cute. Useful too, I bet you could open a beer bottle at about 27 places on that, and still cut your filet mignon. Uh, nice knife, what purpose did you buy it for?
