Ugliest knife in the world is a...........

I go on record for the Sebbie. The grey ----!!!
Sorry again Fracdude.Your choice of knives are impeccable other than CRK's.
Sorry again.

I left out his best quote

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, BEWARE .I have sold hundreds of knives to Police Officers, Fire chiefs, Soldiers, Hunters, and Paramedics and they use them everyday and When there (sic) life depends on it they buy from me!

well i think what we've proved here is that anything involving aircraft aluminum and leopard skin is ghetto.
The ugliest part of this one is not just the knife (BAD UGLY), the ripoff of other's designs and patents (LEGAL and MORAL Ugly) but the condescending, misrepresenting trash he writes. But, he is one of many hawking junk.

Everyone deserve an opinion. Here's mine:

Yes, that isn't too pretty. But I finally got one in my hands and it is kind of like owning a good ugly hunting dog. You know what it will do, but don't expect much on the resale should you wish to unload it.

Just about anything from Frost Cutlery will set off the ugly meter.

The Sebenza looks ok to me, and that wooden Case model is not bad.

Anything with pakkawood qualifies.

There are lots of ugly knives. It's finding the beautiful ones that can be hard. In the case of the sebenza, beauty is definitely in the eyes of the beholder as long as he is looking anywhere except at the grey **** in his hand.

How can something that feels so good, and moves so smooth, look so bad? It must be some sort of strange optical illusion. Perhaps those weird engravings are some sort of proprietary CRK reverse engineered mind control technology that cunningly manipulates the aesthetic sense of the human brain?

Para, it's a beautiful world we live in...

I don't find the Sebenza to be ugly. I also don't think it is the greatest looking knife in the world. To me the Sebenza has average looks, but is a great knife.

The picture below I have posted before. I really think this is one ugly knife, and the sheath is ugly as well.

I love bowies so there is not a chance that I would that abomination. I came across it one day while checking out bowies on the net. Almost made me :barf:.

GronK is right about one man's ugly is another man's beauty. To me the Sebenza is one of the best lookers out there, especially in wood or leather. I always thought the Condors were a good looking knife also. Ugly to me is any Chinese rip-off copy you see at the flea-markets. I also don't like the celluloid all sorts of colors with some sparkles thrown in the mix folding knives. And candy stripes, don't like them either. My dictionary has a pic of one of them next to the definition on UGLY;)

I used to think the Spydie Gunting was truly badly beaten with the ugly stick. And I recall having seen some spades with greater beauty than the Kabar Warthog.

But ugliness does grow on ya after a while. Nowadays I use the term "functionally elegant" :D

shortgoth: I have to chuckle about your comment concerning the Ka Bar Warthog Impact. Yes it is ugly, but in a appealing sort of way! In fact I like mine so much I had a beautiful leather sheath made for it by Kenny Rowe. The knife is very strong and holds a good edge. I call the Warthog / Kenny Rowe combo "Beauty and the Beast" (the beast being the knife).

I also find the comments about the Sabenza very interesting. If you are having a true "ugly" contest you have to divorce yourself from any general knowledge of the knife (quality, reputation, materials etc). You have to judge from looks (a photo) only. In this regard, the Sebenza is on the ugly list. Kind of looks like a lead pipe with a blade attached. Also I think most of the computer generated designs, on the handle, only add to the ugly look. The designs look like they come from an Etch A Sketch.

Don't get me wrong: I like Chris Reeve knives and think they are some of the best made. I am going to be buying a Sebenza shortly. However the Sebenza is not great looking, and I am not buying it for its visual beauty.

I've got a couple of "souvenir knives" (edit: I consider them souvenirs, but not knives-it was the thought that counted:)) that were bought for me in the Phillipines. Even a crappy pic is worth, well, a bunch of words.

Well.., although a real cutting machine! That Spydie Model Jot Singh Khalsa made for Spyderco is (help with Model??) is pretty tough to look at.. :(
