Mama says ugly is as ugly does. Problem with ugly contests is that one man's ugly is another's beauty. I happen to think my Condor 82 in grey micarta is gorgeous. The grey leather belt pouch that came with it is also a real conversation starter. As in, "What the he** is that?". Now if ya want "ugly", try the MT OTF's or the CRK Sebenza. Now that's ugly!

well i think what we've proved here is that anything involving aircraft aluminum and leopard skin is ghetto.

They were able to Ripoff the BM aries and Ken Onion Technology all in one knife, impressive.


BTW- the CRK Seb isnt ugly i would say that it's Plain, the MT OTF's are not all bad, but the HALO III looks like it's hell spawn.

My vote MT Option II, doesnt have that Cool Credit card knife look like the spyderco, this one just looks bad.
 
The ugliest part of this one is not just the knife (BAD UGLY), the ripoff of other's designs and patents (LEGAL and MORAL Ugly) but the condescending, misrepresenting trash he writes. But, he is one of many hawking junk

Personally, I think the even the plain gray Sebenza is beautiful. It just sings "efficiency". Anyway, to the list of uglies already posted, I'd add the Spyderco Shabaria. Yeah, I know, I've read lots of good things about that knife, but it sure ain't easy on the eyes.
 
Ignoring all the $5 crap, and anything by Smith and Wesson...

the Schrade Avatar is not just ugly, but it is offensive. I have seen good designs ripped-off and poorly recreated, but to rip-off three or four designs, merge them into one bastard knife and then poorly execute the thing just transcends ugliness.

BTW, I now have Mnandi, an Umfaan, a Small Classic Sebbie and a Large Regular.

The handle on the Large Regular Sebenza is bland, in large part, due to its size. I can't really say it is UGLY, but I do find it exceptionally unappealing. Well, one out of four ain't bad.
 
Good Guestion Greg: I slept on it and think I have my answers.
First, ugliest of all is the misrepresented Knife!
All should be sold to the client with all of his questions and expectations carefully addressed and understood.
Second: The knives bred by traditions that somehow become known as art when the design is completely void of origonal thought.

Honestly, I do not see any visual appeal in that knife.

PLEASE NOTE - I said "visual" appeal. That is not the same as saying the knife is a POS - but I'm zippin' up my flame-retardant suit just in case. :p
 
That knife on E-bay looks like it would fit in perfectly in a trailer home.......ech, leopard skin print handle...

I almost bought a Schrade "Beast" tonight ( might even go back and pick it up Friday ) which, as El Cid stated is on his list of "uglies"
but instead got the EZ Out. The Hoochie Momma Rambo "switchblade" looks like one of those CHICOM "knock offs" I warn people away from!
It sounds as if Kershaw's Ken Onion series has taken another (yet) "hit" from communist China who(m) blantantly steal American
ideas and sell'em back to U.S.. Very sad statement regarding where American's heads are at the moment! NAFTA was a BIG mistake.

In my opinion, the "Blackjack Condor" folders are the ugliest knives ever made in the entire existence of the world. Now don't get me wrong here, they are well made and tuff as nails. But if ya stop to think about it,so are manhole covers. I own a few of these hideous trolls and wouldn't part with any of them easily. But they are so darn ugly not even a mother could love them. You would have to tie a porkchop around their necks just to get the dogs to play with them. Now that is ugly. They are named after the ugliest bird ever to sprout feathers and appropriately so. A photo of these deformed mutts will give you their best side to the camera. You haven't experienced "coyote ugly" unless you have held one of these creatures in your hand. Any of you Knife Knuts have a favorite "Ugly Knife"?
