uh lb8, brass or nickle silver?

:confused: the unicle henry LB8 should come with nickle silver bolsters, I"ve seen a lot of these knives with brass bolsters. Can any one tell me why? thanks, BILL.
 
The LB8's, like their base LB7's and sibling LB5's, came with both types of bolsters. Clemente says they are NS, and they were for the most part. NS was just a bit fancier in appearance, though a tad more expensive material wise. When they switched the LB5 from nickle silver to brass bolsters, it was said to "maintain a stronger 'family' look". However, it doesn't take a manufacturing expert to recognize that design and material changes are generally driven as much by cost factors as much as by quality and appearance.

I took a quick look at some of the last few color catalogs the LB8 was in and they were all brass. Im sure they may have started out NS but didnt end that way. I'll see if I can dig up a better date which they "officially" switched but don't hold your breath. With C.R.S. I'm libel to forget before I get home what I was supposed to look for.
