Uh-oh -Tomar's

I just got my second as well...

Well, my second BK-17.

Oh, and if you don't like waiting (like I don't) head over to Troy Illinois and you can walk out of the store (Grand Prairie Knives) with any/all of the Beckers. And they have the micarta and zytel in stock. Not saying not to shop at Tomars, just I don't have the patience for it personally.

I have yet to get over to GP in Troy. It is literally like 25 min away from me and I have never stopped by. Are they reasonable on prices?

Yeah they are. They might be a couple of dollars higher than online, but to me it's totally worth it to shop local.

I'll have to check it out. Wanting to buy a bk16 as a late bday present to myself. I guess the couple extra dollars either saves from your shipping or your having to wait to receive it.

No chance of it getting lost in the mail, when you walk out the door with it in your hand :D

Hey MOCraig.....

Welcome...... Many thanks for buying a Sweet Sixteen and saying nice things about it....... The Eleven or the Fourteen make great backup for your first choice ......I had an interesting use for my Eleven the other day when rabbiting....... Got caught up in a "hell" of green briar and I would have had a painful time getting to the Sixteen on my belt but, a quick draw of the Necker cut three or four strategic strands and I was free....... The neck carry can be VERY handy.........

Thanks again ......

Ethan

Ha- I've been there a time or two myself, when the briars seem to have a will of their own. Good you had the necker, and I'm looking forward to carrying mine when it arrives.

To buy one of every current production Becker is >$800 it really isn't that bad. I highly recommend going that route.

To be honest, that really isn't bad. That's a lot of bang for the buck.

I started this thread saying I had bought a 16 and loved it, but that's not entirely true. My boys (well, my wife "helped") gave me that 16 for Fathers Day last year. I still am not sure how that all worked out. They knew I wanted a Becker, but I hadn't asked for it - was going to pick it up myself. Never told anyone the model I wanted.

It somehow worked out, I was surprised and very pleased.

Long-winded way of saying this 14 is the only Becker I've bought myself, and the 14 is so inexpensive for its quality. I feel justified now in getting another. ;)
