Sorry it broke on ya,man
How did you break it it 1/2 like that?

Contact Yangdu at HIMIMP@aol.com, as she is the one to make any sort of decision or replacement and be prepared to send it to her for inspection.

Yeah, I would send Yangdu an email with a length to the thread as well as a little purchasing information. She'll know what to do.

Sorry about the break, man:(

Send it back to HI for replacement, sorry for the broken blade

wow, you broke a chiruwa AK? WOW.

never heard of anyone doing that except with a vise and a cement truck involved.

Bladite

That's not fun at all.
From the looks of it though, Yangdu is going to take good care of you.
I hope everything works out!

Thanks for sharing, MLS, although I'm sorry to hear about it. This should be a reminder to all of us to be always careful, even with an HI blade!

:o

Hey, where is the nicely tiled camping ground?

I have been looking for one of those for years!

:)

Yeah,

I was sad, was out camping with some friends, and was chopping up that piece of wood in the pic, when I heard *tink*, and there went the blade. Glad it fell downwards instead of at me, hehehe. Maybe I hit wrong or something, but still...

I've had this blade for almost 10 years, and put it through a lot. I'm sad to see it go.

Was hoping I could keep the blade, it makes a really nice thrower. But whatever.
Looks like HI will honor the warranty as always.

Yes it is the second blade :(

thanks for the painful memories tyr_shadowblade :p

Gonna send it back to Yangdu. I'm sure it will all work out.

That, I'd advise against: it'd be bad press. People would come here, and only see broken knives everywhere. Very, very bad for business.

HI products don't seem to break very often though, and when they do it's usually a large chip out of the edge rather than a catastrophic failure.

I've NEVER heard of an AK snapping in half like that. HI khucks are forged from truck leaf springs. I would expect that sort of failure from a Made in India knockoff. You say you purchased this khuk directly from HI 10 years ago?

I have seen a couple khuks break at that junction. Typically, it's an "oopsie" where the kami splashes some water on the cho area while pouring from the tea kettle. They tend to break within the first little bit of chopping.

Who made your khuk? If you don't know, describing the kami mark would be helpful. Maybe I can do a little digging on the subject.
