Hi

I have found a new site cheaper than Heinnie Haynes called shop4lessuk.com

The prices include P&P

Trust me I am in no way attached to this shop, but have spent LOTS of money there so far, waiting delivery when I get knives I will post again, they seem to be cheaper to me but I guess you will have to check yourselves

As I have said I am waiting on first delivery

hey bro, I looked at the mini skirmish price and it costed 140 pounds. Thats like 280 american isnt it? I think buying from an american store and shipping it over would save you SOOOO much money. Not sure on your customs but unless they charge like 150 american you still would be getting a better deal.

We have a forum called The Good, Bad & Ugly. In this forum, had you taken the time to look around, you would find that it is where you post threads such as yours. A Super will move this thread. You should really look around a bit and get a feel for the forum and where things belong. This also seems a lot like deal spotting which is also a no-no.

:D I know what you mean...But, we get charged 8.5% import Tax and then 17.5% VAT on top of that and that is after the conversion to UK and including shipping, the only way round that is to have it marked as a gift and that is fraud ;)

Shipping is normall $30 odd to UK

I have really done my homework and I found this to be the case:

Kershaw Spec Bump from the shop4less
£105 inc shipping

Knifeworks:
$117 + $30 shipping =$147

$147 = £76 UK + 26% (Duty a VAT) = £95 a saving of only £10 plus the chance they could confiscate it

So you see we are screwed over here, knowing my luck they would choose to inspect mine if marked as a gift and I would face the consequences

So there you go

GUTTED

If I have offended you by putting my thread in the wrong forum I apologise ;)

What is deal spotting?

If it is moved why would I care? as long as it helps someone I really dont mind where it goes, sorry to the supers if i have caused you any time and effort I do mean that

I have looked around but did not spot this since i joined friday, next time I will as i do not want to make people think i am an un-educated idiot who posts rubbish everywnere

cheers

What is deal spotting?

Deal spotting is making a post to inform others of knife deals on other sites. This is pretty much the same as auction spotting; spotting eBay auctions and posting them on the forum. There is no way for anyone to determine whether you are associated with the seller and shilling for him to promote his business or are the seller themselves promoting your own business. This is why posts such as yours are not allowed. People around here are pretty internet savy and can search on their own without your help. You can tell us that you had a good experience from them but linking to the site and deal spotting is frowned upon.

Thank you for explaining that I appreciate it.

I know nothing about knives and I have come here to learn the last thing I want to do is make people think I am a fool or some dodgey seller trying to be clever, if you check my other posts I can guarantee I am not. They prove I am a total Knife noob!!!

However I totally accept what you are saying and really do appreciate the explanation :)

Thanks
Gav

Expect your thread to be edited and/or moved once a Super sees it (but doing it on your own would be helpful as well). Like I said earlier, you can tell of your good experiance with the seller but the deal spotting has got to go.

Shipping is normall $30 odd to UK

Depending on its size, New Graham Knives will ship you an average sized knife for between six and ten dollars.

shop4lessuk.com lists the Benchmade Mini Grip at £54. It is possible to get one for less than £34 in the UK, so that site isn't offering you that much of a bargain.

Thanks Steven

I will go looking again, can you tell me where, I did look around at least I thought I did

Cheers

Getting back to the initial point of this thread...

Shop4less is quality for prices, much better deals than heinnie.. um, that's not too hard considering heinnie's extortionate prices - good ol' supply n demand eh? - if ppl will pay it, they'll charge it, so fair's fair. But Heinnie's usually my first reference point to see if a knife's available in the UK tho, cuz they do have a good(ish) range.

Tbh, with the exchange rate on the USD right now, buying from the states has got to be the way to go - you pretty much get 2x50% off (unfortunately that doens't add up to 100% off, but hey...): 50% off cuz US prices are cheaper anyway, then another 50% cuz of the exchange rate. That's as long as you can find companies that will ship conveniently and cheaply to the UK.... and I think giving a link would be deal spotting, so yo're gonna have to do your own googling.

I agree with all you have said, especially after finding out during this thread about New graham doing it for very good rates

Too late for first lot now, but I will look to them in future

I was just worried about VAT, Duty and our UK customs being a pain :)
