I found for me what seems to be the EDC that will fill a serious hole in my line-up; the Spyderco UK Penknife. I do a lot of traveling and keeping up with the knife laws of every city, state, and country is getting to be a real pain in the arse; and the UK Penknife seems to be the solution to this.

WHICH FIGURES THEY WOULD DISCONTINUE IT!!!

Has anyone heard any news of a new model coming out for 2008? Or should I start hunting the the BF Exchange or the auction sites for one.

you will still be able to find one im sure. try fle-bay and the like, they seem to come up fairly often there.

The black G-10 version is discontinued, right. But you can order foliage green G-10 now and orange G-10 UKPKs soon :)

Spyderco is onto something with this knife, and the thinking behind it. Kudos to them and their marketing savvy- in other words, making a tool so that those who need it will still be able to carry and use it in compliance with increasingly prohibitive regional laws. My understanding is that Spyderco hasn't discontinued this model, but only a particular color of this model. Also, I'm looking forward to the Urban, a smaller version of this knife and one that I'm getting for sure, along with this one.

Thanks for the info everybody. I would prefer to get the black G-10 over the other colours so I guess I better act fast.
Jedi I can't agree with you more, and I think this just goes to show that Spyderco is a company that makes knives for the user and their needs; not just following the mall ninja tacticool crowds' latest trend.
Thank you Spyderco.

There are plenty of well-known online e-tailers that have the black UKPKs in stock.

They're discontinued, (the black ones) but they have not vanished yet...pretty easy to find still.

My orange one should be here in a couple of days... :D

that orange one looks sweet...I've only got a black one

I found one with the black G-10. Review to come soon as I get a little bit more time, but initial thoughts out of box.
1. its lighter than I expected
2. handle ergos seem good
-I'm not worried about the slip-joint because of this
3. don't even notice it in my pocket due to weight, deep-pocket carry and slim profile
4. I have to get used to the spyder hole
5. wicked sharp out of the box
4 + 5 = cut thumb

Cheers
Ronan

Don't forget about the Urban---out soon. I really like the UKPK. If Spyderco doesn't stop throwing all these new knives at me, I'm really gonna get P..... off!
