UK Sharp Show 2023

Took this photo of Robert just before the The Sharp Show began this October. He was from USA, though I know not exactly where...

Robert was very much a part of knife shows and always drew the biggest crowds to his tables........he will be very sadly missed for a long time to come.

I am surrounded by knives I bought from him,its very sad and so unexpected.

Somebody please give me a heads up next year's show and I'll try to come over. I need about a months advance notice. There's definitely knives shown I'd have attempted to take home.

We should all have a meet up Jack will come this time as well.

- indeed, am still in shock.

I'd been to his house and helped him with something non-knife related.........lovely fella indeed, and, was only 46yrs old. Great, great shame...
That's young (though I had an uncle who died of a heart attack in his 30's) :(

Me too! :) I had the train, hotel, even the breakfasts booked, then got Covid. I was OK by the time of the show, and testing negative, but I didn't want to risk making anyone else ill

Definitely mate, it looked like a great show, I couldn't believe how big it was  Thanks for keeping me posted about it, it's a real shame I couldn't make it :(

Good evening Johnnythefox Johnnythefox - very sorry to relay to you and others who knew him - our dear Robert Cutting has departed, passed.

He had a heart attack two weeks ago and sadly never recovered.

I know he supplied you, and many other happy collectors, with lovely examples of the past, and materials. A lovely warm and generous man.

Rest In Peace, Robert

Not on as much lately due to family commitments, very saddened by Roberts passing. My thoughts to his wife, family, friends, and to this community, to which he contributed greatly.

We were last texting not long before he died about house renovations and a Rodgers pruner we were interested in. I noticed a text I'd sent a couple days ago wasn't read and got a weird feeling about it which unfortunately was correct.

His genuine warmth as Chui describes definitely came across. His knowledge and advice was immense and he gave it freely, a thoroughly nice fella who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
