The name for this comes from the carving on the sheath, a detail from an ukiyo-e print by Utagawa Kuniyoshi.

This one is in W2 with a 10" blade with hamon (and tons of thin ashi) and an OAL of 15.5"

The handle is wenge with silk ito wrap and a damascus guard and copper spacer. The knots are traditional handachi style.

As you can see, the sheath is set up for crossdraw carry which suits the image.

Asking $pf shipped.

Thanks

Wow, that is one of the absolute finest pieces of cutlery I have seen. Wish I had the cash. Beautiful fusion. Makes the old western movie Red Sun come to mind

Stuart,
That is drop-dead gorgeous ... another fabulous piece as a follow-on to your Osoraku Zukuri. Congrats on another astounding piece.

a truly fine work. the sheath by itself is amazing, the entire package just the highest level artistry and workmanship.
