I just got my UKPK yesterday and I just want to say I love it! My 5th Spyderco and it may be my favorite. Also got the Sharpmaker to touch up my edges. The UKPK is extremely light, sharp, and the wire clip is great. It sits very deep in the pocket. And, made in Golden CO USA Earth!:)

I have the maroon CE leaf blade and I'm looking for a carbon fiber s30v but I'm thinking about grabbing a BD-1 like yours in the meantime

I like my ukpk alot, but a lot has to do with the handle shape which is pretty much identical to a caly.

The Caly 3 is my favorite EDC. It's blade is big enough for my needs, the handle is very ergonomic, and it practically disappears in the pocket.

Sweet collection, rem!

The caly is my favorite spyderco pattern for sure.

The wire clip is my favorite clip, and the UKPK may be my favorite Spyderco designs in the 3" and under blade length class. I have the G10 Foliage Green drop point, and prefer it over my Caly 3.

I have the bd1 version in blue. Its my favorite Spyderco to date. I had the gin1 version in a trade. Traded it. Missed it so much I bought another one at full retail.

The UKPK is one of my favorites.

I have a blue leaf and gray drop point, both plain edged gin-1. Have been very happy with the gin-1, so easy to touch up.

Would love to pick up a new black ffg, but they are harder to find than para2's... :(

You guys with a ukpk...do you get into situations alot where the blade slips closed while using? They look like great knives, i just dont know how i feel about one with no lock. I would be nervouse about it closing shut while in use. Look very similar to the caly 3 which is one of my favorite edc knives. And is the action smooth? Is it easy to flick?

It doesn't flick. The ukpk has a positive half stop like on a traditional. What I love about it as an edc is that its quick and easy to deploy and I don't have to deal with a lock.

Its not a hard use knife per set and it feels really similar to a Caly. Because of the choil its very difficult for it to close on your finger but again it doesn't lock so there is a chance that it could get wedged in between cardboard and close.

I've never had that issue but I use it the same way that I do my traditional with no lock.

Yes, the picture at Knifeworks showed a sabre geind but mine is FFG, which I prefer.

Somehow I missed this the first time I read the thread. Looks like I need to give KW a call and get a new black ffg UKPK. I heard that these also have a new, stiffer, backspring than the older gin-1 models.

I have few in frn handles, a slipit with the hole opener. Love it. Gary
