Up for your consideration is an excellent condition titanium frame lock custom Recon 3.5” by Doc Shiffer - $395 shipped to your door (USA-48) PayPal goods & services.
Here is the technical run down on the knife:
Overall Length: 8.375"
Blade Length: 3.50"
Blade Thickness: 0.15"
Blade Material: 1095 w/ custom Hamon
Action: ball bearing pivot
Handle Material: polished, jeweled, and anodized titanium
Handle Length: 4.875"
Total Thickness: 0.48" (w/o pocket clip)
Weight: 6.0 oz.
Made in the USA
Some of the images you see are from Doc himself while he was crafting this knife. It features a Hamon blade with custom gimping, anodized & polished titanium handle with carved satin scallops, geared anodized & polished back spacer, jeweling of the inner handles and pocket clip, heat anodized hardware, and a polished blade edge.
Steve produced this Recon in March of 2015. I purchased it from an authorized Doc Shiffer retailer, and then it sat in my safe for a while. I’ve recently taken it out for office pocket carry/pocket jewelry. It is over-all excellent, but being particularly picky I can see a few thin snail trails on the handle, a small mark by the gimping, and few light use marks on the blade.
The knife came back from Steve in November from having a tune-up. It features the new (larger) ball detent, lock up in the 15% range, centered blade, and it flips extremely well. It will come with the black satin pouch. This might very well be the most creative & complex Recon out there!
