I travel to remote saltwater flyfishing destinations and would like to carry a single multitool...I prefer compact/pocketable tools...please send your opinions!

I don't think the ultimate flyfishing multi-tool has been invented yet but I'll offer some suggestions.
Back in the olden days , Case made a Fly fishing knife and similar knives were also manufactured by Kabar and Iberson (among others)--those are collectors items now.
Marbles currently manufactures a Fly Fisherman Utility Knife that's available for cheap. I've only seen photos of it so I can't comment on the quality (I'd expect it to be on par with its price).
The fly fishing knives lack pliers though. If you want a tool with pliers...
The locking pliers on the Kershaw A100C (discontinued) and the Leatherman Crunch might be handy for holding flies. Both have grooves in the jaws. The Kershaw isn't compact/pocketable.
The Leatherman PST II (discontinued but widely available) might also be of interest. It doesn't have fancy Zytel grips or a one-hand opening blade but it does have a diamond file with a groove for sharpening hooks.
thanks for the info...i will hit google in search of the tools you have suggested...i have several flyfishing trips planned for 2008...i hope to have photos to share later in the year!
