Ultimate Moran ST-23s

I'm a neophyte too so not sure of the differences between models. One dislike I have is the thin, pointy guards and buttcaps. The folder improves on these a bit but the blade length seems too small. A good example of "classy" brass though. I don't care so much for the handle shapes either. Seems a little "too" ergonomic to my eye. I must admit I've never held one though and I must admit the truth is in the pudding. Send them "my" way and I'll give an honest opinion... :D

i like both.
i have seen beautiful and basic examples of both models.
kinda like redheads and brunettes....

You are currently married to a brunette.:D

drf1, thanks for sharing those! I'm very interested in Mr. Moran's work!

His shop is about 35 min. ride from my house!

Any news on when it will be open to the public as a museum? I live near Baltimore, but I am always out that way in the warmer months.

silenthunterstudios, no info yet on the museum, however there is an open house every December! And possibly other activities in the near future.

Maybe you would consider joining the W.F. Moran Foundation.

As Steve stated, Bill Moran's shop will be open to the public on select dates during the year with the next being Saturday April 10th as part of Frederick Maryland's "Bells & History" Day.
The shop will be open from noon to 5:00pm with forging and other activities going on.

Thanks guys, I will be out there April 10th for the Mason Dixon knife show in Frederick. I'll have to stop by. Sort of sad to see the weeds grown up around his shop, will be great to see it full of life.

I have both an ST-23 and an ST-24. They're both beautiful, but I prefer the ST-23. I love the way it feels in the hand and it looks really cool. :D
