ULTIMATE Ultimate Hunter

Honestly hunting had nothing to do with my motivation.

I had just purchased this:

And was trying to cut open the plastic packaging with the Ultimate Hunter. In that moment, I was wishing I had a different knife on hand.

Subtle change to the spine makes a huge improvement. Amazingly clean work for a Dremel tool. Nice!

Thanks! I should clarify that the dremel was only used to remove the bulk of the steel. The "cleanliness" was accomplished by hand and took the majority of my time.

Nice job dude, that looks great. Only other thing you could do to improve it imho would be adding in a 50/50 choil. That with your spine mod would make for one sweeeeeet knife.

Yeah, I definitely considered a choil. But in my opinion doing it right (making it deep enough) would also require removing some of the G10 handle material on front side of the finger guard. As-is, I can still choke up on the handle with my index finger on the flat of the tang. So, when I considered the fact that it would be another 2 hours of work, I wasn't convinced it would be worth it. Plus the handle is already so long that grip has never been an issue. And I generally don't like creating a point adjacent to where I'm placing my finger.

I prefer these choils

That's why I like the SOG Pentagon Elite with the Shark Tip point.... it just destroys blister packs!
