Kevin, yes an old article but it ties together a number of things .After warning people about annealing 1095 and getting grain boundary carbides most would say higher carbon content is bad. But if you control size, shape and location of the carbides you can do interesting things !
When I was in school I saw superplasticity and it was one of those WOW ! things to see 1000 % elongation !
In any case it brought him into the damascus world .
