Some really great perspectives in these comments above. I can see it from all sides. My thoughts were that a hardness tester could help my confidence in repeatable processes although I fully understand hardness is just one component of a blades performance for the intended task. I feel it would also assist with hitting consistent spring tempers for slip joint knife springs. I get it that these tools are nice to have versus must haves for knife making. A luxury if you like for a hobby maker like me.
