If you are not familiar with this type of knife, it has been used by Arctic people for centuries; everything from processing fish to butchering a whale. The original ulus were made from slate or granite because there was no chert or flint in the area. Some chert tools from the Ohio river basin have been found in Alaska, finding it's way through trade but this was rare. This knife is still used in the North mostly for processing salmon (in kitchens here too for chopping vegetables and cutting pizza).
Mostly stock removal from 3/16 inch 52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with attention to a fine grain structure
Slight convex grind
Quilted maple handle
Width is 7 inches
Depth from the top of the handle to the edge is 5 inches
Leather edge protector
