Its been a while since I posted one of these because I have to be in the proper mood to tackle one and before I have my 4th cup of coffee in the morning. The forging goes well but the grinding is not like any other knife that I make; there are just no straight lines here. If you have never used one of these knives, made popular by Native Alaskans and Canadians , they were originally made from stone and used to prepare fish for smoking, slicing up a whale or seal. Today they are also used in the kitchen with a rocking motion which works especially well for veggies and slicing pizza.

Forged from 1/4 inch 52100 high carbon steel
Heat treated to Rc 58-60 with a fine grain structure
Slight convex grind helps to keep food from sticking to the blade
Stabilized figured maple handle
Width of the cutting edge is 6 1/2 inches
Depth from the cener of the edge to the top of the handle is 5 inches
Handle width is 5 inches
I have included a leather edge protector in case someone wants to take it camping

SOLD delivered within these United States. Please message me for shipping and payment options
