I did a "Work in Progress" when I made this one. Have a look http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/867784-An-Ulu-WIP-is-Complete?highlight=Ulu
This tool is forged to a very thin taper and is an excellent slicer for veggies, pizza, chicken wings, leather, etc.
I was in the Yukon at a native fish camp a few years ago and was admiring an ulu an Inuit gentleman had made. When I asked him how long they had been using a tool like that he told me "since we moved here about 8,000 years ago". I suspect that he uses that line on all us tourists.

Forged from 1/4 inch 5160
Flat grind with some forge marks
Hand sanded with a mustard patina
Stag handle
Cutting edge is 7 1/8 inches
Riveted leather edge protector

$155 includes shipping to the US or Canada. My PayPal account is gldrewknives@yahoo.com USPS money orders and checks with time to clear OK too.

I have a "tourist" ulu I bought in AK a few years ago. They are great for food prep slicing chores, for sure! The Northern native people know how to survive in the harshest of climates and they use these blades for many, many tasks.

I'm impressed with what you've done here. Very nice.

Very nice, should be very handy in the kitchen!
