I'm thinking of making my GF an Ulu knife with a wooden bowl that matches the radius of the blade.
It should be a handy herb cutter.
What kind of wood could best be used for such a bowl?

What kind of wood could best be used for such a bowl?

Maple, walnut, etc. Basically anything you've seen a cutting board made of. Make sure that the inside of the bowl is the end grain of the wood. It will be much nicer to the edge of your Ulu since the edge can slide between the grain.
