Many years ago I watched a Alaskan guide make short work of a Salmon, then a deer and a few other items in camp. For the most part he did all his cutting with this Ulu. I really liked what I saw and learned, but I thought on a few improvements I thought I could make for a more versatile tool. So I offset the handle to make one end more of a point, and made it of stainless steel.
1/8" thick 154CM stainless steel 5 3/4" cutting edge. properly heat-treated and cryoed.
4 5/8" handle of black Paper Mycarta. Comes with a sheath.
I always appreciate comments.

Awesome design! I've always wondered about a modernized ulu. such a simple tool, just one step away from holding a sharp chunk of stone.

Put a gut hook on one end and you just might have the "do-it-all" ulu.

Nice offerings, both the ulu and sheath!

Interesting. Does that one have a convex edge? Most of the ones I have used were only sharpened on one side. How was the one the guide was using sharpened?
