Ummmm.... Let's Drink?

Something different.

Yea, you got me.

I'm probably not going to drink those bottles. I'm just drinking Jim Beam.

I think I ordered those bottles in 2010 when I had an insatiable appetite for whiskey and no family to spend my money on. I'd forgotten they were on backorder until I got an email that they were being shipped to me a few weeks ago. Now those bottles are selling for thousands on the internet and I just can't justify drinking that much worth of alcohol when Beam will get me just as drunk. I just need to figure out how to sell them.

Jim Beam? Come down to the bottom shelf with me, my friend. Evan Williams is your friend. Tastes better, costs less, higher proof. It's all good.

Sounds like you hit the lottery just in time for Christmas. Cheers.

Jim Beam Extra Aged, black label. I think here in Marilundt it runs maybe $5 more a bottle (costs less than Jack Daniels black label, and just as good or better). It's a nice secret. Or at least IMO.

I might try some of that Evan Williams, though. I tried Jim Beam white label, and it just doesn't work for me.

A buddy gave me a van winkle about 5 months ago. IT was good, but honestly, the stranahans snowfloake is a much better american whiskey. It just does not have high production numbers so it is hard to get. But in the end it all comes down to taste.

Evan Williams Single Barrel, 2005 Vintage. At about $30 a bottle, it would be a bargain at twice the price.

Anyone like Old Forester as a budget bourbon? Had some recently and plan to pick up a bottle for the bottom shelf next time I'm out.

Picked up a 1.75L of Buffalo Trace today. Gonna be a difficult choice tonight: Buffalo Trace, or Monkey Shoulder. Starting the evening with 2005 Ingleside Petit Verdot. Just a little past its prime, but still GREAT!

Auchentoshan 12YO. I don't know about this one. It seems to be lacking something. A lot of something.

The biscuit whisperer is BACK!!!  :D

Shhhhhh!!!! Keep that on the down-low!!! ;) We've got a GREAT local distillery, and are extremely fortunate to be able to pick that stuff up so easily (relatively) here. If word gets out, less booze for us. :(

lol, so true. I have people calling me wanting me to ship and I won't. I get it for me and friends.

I admire the person that can keep a nice bar going with all the pretty bottles unopened.

Wish I had the self control. Sigh...
