Umnumzaan Alternative?

I have 2 of them, they do come back in stock from time to time, both of mine are S30V so i have had them awhile.

I saw you post your two favorite EDC's the other day...one of those Zaans and a Military in S30V. For a fellow who has owned/studied/tested just about every super-steel available...I know there is a lesson here.
You present an interesting case, however.

I like S30V, it just works. :D

I like the design of the Zaan, but can't get past the o-rings on the stop. Looks out of place to me. Maybe those with a Zaan can help. Do the o-rings wear easily and are they secure on the stop. May be overanalyzing.

They work as designed, and they do last.

Yep carry mine all the time and have had no problems with the rings moving. It really is such. A beautiful knife. Big one you won't regret it.

Oh I completely forgot to add if I don't have my umnum. I carry my ti military. So check one of those out if you can.

The O-Rings work fine and fit well into the notches on the thumb stud. I have the glow in the dark rings which are less noticeable than the standard black ones.

Where did you order those from?

I'm also interested in getting some of those transparent o-rings for the thumb studs.

You can see the black o-rings around the thumb stud in the picture below. They act as shock absorbers since the thumb studs act as the stop pin as well. It's a design element that Grant and Gavin Hawk originated and allowed CRK to use.

Not sure where they originally came from; I was lucky enough to have them included with the Umnumzaan when I got it as a trade. If I had to guess, I would think CRK has them, you should try to talk to them.

Then, I probably have it in the box from Wilson Combat.
