umnumzaan lock up

hey guys I just traded for a NIB umnumzaan and it seems like the lockbar wont fully engage if I open the blade slowly. It i open it up with some authority the lock bar seats in securely. Is there anyway to adjust this? or do I just deal with it.

If it's new, most likely its a little stiff....work it a few hundred times and break it in...you should be ok...don't be afraid to open it with authority you won't hurt it. :thumbup: :barf:
 
My umnumzaan is the same way. Upon looking very closely at the knife, when you open it softly, the poly rings compress slightly and you will see the lockbar engage about 25% give or take a little. If you open the knife more forceful, like your expected too, the washers compress fully and the lockbar engages aprox. 60%. I dont know if its just mine or not (I got it pre-owned) But I really like it nonetheless, I just wish I had got mine alot sooner.....lol.
 
On my umnum, even if I open as slowly as I can, it engages fully. It just engages fully now matter how slow I try to engage it.
