Umnumzaan Macro Shots........

Those pics are so cool. Thanks for sharing.

I just bought a 90mm macro lens for my camera. After seeing your photos, the light bulbs are going off in my head with all kinds of ideas. :D

Thanks agaain everyone for the great feedback.
RWS, a 90mm macro will be perfect. Be sure to share what you come up with so we can all enjoy it.

hey peppercorn, will you make this a series, and do the other folders as well? These are great shots. And if you don't have say the ti-lock, mnandi, or what not, maybe someone can lend said pieces for you to snap more gorgeous pictures :D

I just love your macro photography! Lighting is excellent and your choice of object to photograph is superb!

Thanks, I really appreciate it. I hadn't thought of a series, I do have a large and small 21 with inlays and a mnandi i could shoot. But hey, it would be cool to see and photogragh first hand some of these damacus, 'P' , 'H' , Ti lock and what have you knives.
Also, just yesterday I did some Hardware shots comparing large, small and Umnumzaan hardware. I will get these up this weekend.

Hey thanks lisa and thanks for the lighting comment. I have really been playing with lighting on these macro shots which, given that I use natural light almost exclusively, has been a bit of a challenge, ok, so, actually it's been my biggest challenge.

Fantastic!!! Can you post the link to the Seb Macro thread please? Bart

Just today I was fighting off the urge to buy an Umnumzaan; these photos are not helping.

Great job!

Usually macro shots will show all of the imperfections of the object.
These shots show some amazing attention to detail and such precision manufacturing that I believe Chris Reeve knives are a high end custom knife at a production price.

That ceramic ball looks like a cue ball in these pics! real cool....

^^^^what he said.

I just talked myself out of the umnumzaan as my next CRK. Now rethinking....

Terrific shots, thanks for sharing even though it was a while back.
