So I am probably going to be eaten alive for even posting this. But today I found a beautiful G 23 at the local gun store and its in great condition and costs $400. Problem is I also was just about to purchase an Umnumzaan and I am not a millionaire. Not even a thousandaire. Help me in my purchasing dilema, give me some justification for one or the other. I am as lost as a child who walks into the middle of a movie with no frame of reference.

I don't know what glocks go for in maryland, but in ohio that would be as cheap as you could find. I'd buy the glock.

glock 17
s&w 686
Savage .270
Remington 1187
Mossbergerg 500 Persuader
Chinese SKS

and in terms of CRK

1 large sebenza 21 plain

You need to add a 1911 to the stable instead.:D I suggest a Springfield GI, can be found easily for not much more than $400.

thats hilarious I was looking at the Taurus PT 1911 stainless. I have wanted a 1911 for awhile now but every time I look at them I want the Kimber and don't have the funds. Maybe I will save up awhile

Wouldn't suggest Taurus or Kimber. The whole Polish of the Taurus series anything (except their revolvers) doesn't sit well with me.

Kimber i don't like because of the change from the browning design extractor, causes more jams that is necessary, I'm unsure if they've fixed that, but as far as track record goes i can't say I'm a fan.

Buying an Umnum though, that I can cheer for. Glock's a fine handgun as well, but since you've got one already, albeit in a diff calibre, either the knife or saving.

I would suggest that you save the cash..you already have a Glock and a large benza......as you mentioned you don't have all the cash in the world, so maybe this is a good thing to skip on?

But if it is a must between the 2, I would go with the Glock, at that price you can probablly get more then you paid for it.

GO for a Tanato Umnumzaan......forget about a .40 Short and Weak

Get a Springfield 1911 or a Kimber.

I have the Custom TLE II. No jambs or mishaps of any kind....nor with the Springfield actually.

Get the Glock.

The Um is nice and you will probably enjoy it more but you NEED a G23 or a G19. You really shouldn't be without one of those two models. G17 is to big and your 686 is to big.

go with the Umnumzaan... it won't jam and best of all it won't run out of ammo!!! it virtually pays for itself :D

Oh, sorry, the umnuzz - yeah, that's second choice. After you get your priorities straight.

It's funny you would ask that since I just sold a G17 for $350 and ordered a large 21 the next day. It's due to arrive this Wednesday. I know it sounds crazy trading a gun plus change for a knife, but you guys understand. :o

I'd second the 1911 if that tempts you, or to at least sit on the money for a while longer and contemplate the decision. Don't regret your purchase and take a loss for it on a low budget like I did. For what it's worth I have my eyes on a Springfield GI but haven't actually shot it before. Can they really be found for $400? I thought they went for $575 and up.

buy the glock shoot it a while, then sell it for more than you paid for it or the same price you paid for it

Personally, I'd go with the Springfield for the production types; otherwise I would suggest to save it up for something in the semi-custom range like a Les Baer, Ed Brown, Wilson combat, Nighthawk, etc. If you're really going for a 1911.
