Unbelievable deals on the Busse for sale forum right now

On the newer knives...2 years or so(not counting the few rare ones that go to Knob Creek each time)...it is now hard to get your money back if you order something and don't like it. In the good ole days you could order without specs of the knives and still not have to worry if they had to fat a slabs, blade, etc...you could always sell them at cost(I always have) and no worries about lossing money. With the amount of Busse's being made those days are over, no matter the economy. The economy is making it somewhat worse though.

But, if it were only the economy the older stuff wouldn't be selling at such High prices. And there selling at higher prices than ever. Believe me there are a few older ones I have been wanting and they have all went up even more in the last year.

If its new you just need to make sure you know the specs, and know you will like, and keep it. If your not sure you will keep it don't order.

Yeah, there are many on exchange I want also...but am to broke:p:grumpy:

Thats for darn sure ... . I must resist though ... . . I have too many other expenses at the moment...

Also have 2 grail knives lined up for my purchase so I need to stop looking at the exchange for a while .. its killin' me ...

As far as crazy deals so , I saw someone sold a RUCK for 545 a few days ago...:eek::eek:

One came up today that tempted me, so I was just going though my Big Box-of-INFI to remind myself what else I had in that size range. Managed to talk myself out of it, because I already have more knives than is reasonable.

I still have not ordered an NMSFNO, but as they are shipping soon, I hope to have a chance to handle one before it comes off the site.

Didn't I see a knife go for 11,000.00 dollars today? I went to look at it again and I can't find it.

What knife was that...... can you provide the link?

;) Naw... 'Skunk was fooling around, briefly re-wrote "27 3-Fingers, $13,500." after I took the one he listed. Plus...We aren't supposed to link FS threads into other forums. Mebbe with exception, the GB&U Forum...?

LOL.... Thanks Jaxx!! :) I thought it was a 3 fingers but I thought damn..... that was a retard amount of money for that blade! :)

I feel it is both the worsening economy along with supply/demand that is causing depressed prices and slower sales. I still remember when the E-handles were current and for awhile thereafter, that you were lucky to get retail for an SH-E ($297) - an SH-E would sell quickly for that even now. It was the same with Satin Jacks (or what is now sometimes referred to as an SHSJ) - I contemplated selling one shortly after they were no longer available for about 1/3 of what they are selling for now. Another example - I bought a well-used but not abused smooth-handled SHBM 1/300 for $450 about 5 years ago - look what current prices are! I bought a new SHBM 1/6 about a year before that for FAR less than an average SHBM is selling for now. My point is that the more recent a model is, the closer to retail it will sell for (or even less than retail, especially with the current economy), but several years after a model is no longer being made the price will escalate, especially for those that are highly desired.

ps, None of the ones I own mentioned above are for sale, so please don't ask.

I'm buying guns with my $$$.

Yeah - if I was there, that's where my cash would be going too. That and as much ammo as I could fit in the basement!

As to only buying knives I know I want, I only do that anyway. Never had a single Busse that's not a keeper.

Originally planned to buy a CGFBM or another FBM (already bought one through Busse for sale forum), but now have to save for the Busse Khukuri. CG & LE Khukuri probably will be enough to drain my allowance away.

I may give them away as gifts,

I do the same thing, weird habit.

The evolution of the prices are interesting but not surprising. Knowing Jerry personally for many years it's just GREAT to see the success his products have brought his entire family and extended family at the shop! It isn't easy being a business owner these days, and even harder to have staying power in any specialty retail market. You have to be innovative, sharp and fair! Busse Combat Knives has accomplished all three very effectively.

Yeh...I'm tryna raise some loot to pay down debt before my baby comes, and I've got stuff up there under what I paid. Lots of window browsers, but no real buyers. Sucks, but oh well. Such is the cycle of life, right?

No regrets!
