Ok, I tried to title this thread so that you would click on it. I just had a deal with Norcaldude and it needs to be brought up here. So the story goes...

If you have seen some of my posts, you may know that I am one of those who is always looking for a CRK with a special birthday. One of the most special ones I had on my list is not for me, it is for my brother; another big CRK nut. He searches the forums here sometimes, but is fairly busy and doesn't really have the time like I do. He has been asking me if I have found "his" knife yet, almost 3 or 4 times a week, literally. His knife is simple, born 11/12/13 the day he got married.

I was searching the forums and, holy crap, I saw the knife, finally. A Sebenza 25, not just a normal one, but one customized by Randy Johnson. I immediately sent him a picture of the knife and he said BUY IT!! It was perfect. I go back to the Exchange and, you guessed it, it was gone. Norcaldude had bought it. I didn't know what to do. All I could think of was to contact Norcaldude. I sent him a PM asking him if he was the one who got the knife. He said that it was he and that he would contact me when he got it.

And he did.

Norcaldude explained to me that he loved the knife and that he would love to keep it. But, if it was special to me, he wouldn't hesitate to give it up. Mind you, this in not just any old 25. It is a customized one, not something you see everyday. I couldn't believe it, he actually got back to me like he said he would and was willing to give it up. I couldn't say no. I offered him what he paid plus what I figured what shipping and PP fees were. He accepted immediately, without hesitation.

I got the knife today. It is amazing. I also did my math again. Norcaldude actually ate a couple of dollars just to get the knife to me. He didn't say a word about it either. UNBELIEVEABLE! Who does that? I did send him more money to cover what I thought he was out and a couple more dollars for his trouble.

NORCALDUDE, YOU ARE ONE STAND UP GUY!!! I can't thank you enough!! I owe you one. I hope that someday I can help you out like you did me.

I almost forgot. When Norcaldude got back to me and offered to sell the knife. It was my brother's birthday! Seriously. What a gift!

THANK YOU!!!

You both sound like good people.

Nice to read a good story, more in line with the kind of people that I have found here over the years.

Thanks for the nice update.

Aces !!! That is what this hobby should be about. As I was reading your post I was waiting the greed card to show but it never did ! Awesome

That's what I love to hear forum brothers and/or sisters looking out for each other. What a refreshing story!

Thank you for sharing, I know sometimes it seems that there are nothing but negative issues going on; but this is a good story that proves there are still many good people here. Many more good than bad; thankfully.

I had a feeling this was going to be a good one! Great read!

Two great members and a great blade changing hands to yet another happy owner...this thread has it all!

Excellent, what a great story! Thanks for sharing this experience Corskin. I'm grateful to hear good stories for a change.
Norcaldude, you're one good guy.

Thanks everyone for all the great words. While I consider myself a honest guy, the credit for this story really goes to Norcaldude. I was hesitant to include the fact that it was my brothers birthday when he sold me the knife because it makes it sound unbelievable. Honest to God it was, April 8th.

Great story. And these are the reasons I finally joined the forums after being a long time reader. And I've been sadden lately so many negative threads. This is the second purely unselfish genorous threads I've read today. Shows me the biggest bulk of these forums are great folks with big hearts. Thanks for sharing. And very nice gesture Norcaldude!
