I have it. I like it. I want to use it. But...

I can't get this thing to open and close without dinging it up with a hammer and chisel:( I think it's a bit too precision fit.

What am I missing? Any advice for opening/closing these things would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say the pin holes need honed....slightly.... I have one and it opens and closes fine. No hammers required. Call them.

Also, don't get them wet without drying them off.

Mine is the same way. I did get them apart and filed the sharp corners off and that helped get enough grip I can pull them apart.

Well, the good news is Al replied to my email within hours and just told me to send it in and he'll fix it. Great products and great service :)

Yeah... mine can be a bit tight at times. I always clean it off and apply Breakfree CLP to the pins after use. I also always store it in the open position with a nice gap. If it has been sitting for awhile, it's much easier to get it free and moving again if it wasn't stored with the block tight together.

Glad about the service your getting from Al.

I was fortunate to meet Al at Washington, Arkansas while attending handles and guards course. He is a real fine gentleman and I have bought items from him in the past and have nothing but good to say about his service. Nice to have people that care about their customers.
