I am interested in the movie model- sending email

I am having some difficulty with the internet, but I want the $95 Bura- will email as soon as I can.

I've been lurking on this forum for awhile to try and land a special. I got the Bura villager movie model. What do people think of this choice? I've never handled or even seen a Himalayan Import in person.

The Villager by Sher, What are the fittings and what type of handle is it?

Also what does UBBDS mean?

Horn handle movie model and villager BAS left.

Movie Model is my favorite HI Kuk. The only thing that would make mine better is for it to have a wood handle and be a sharper, out of the box, villager model. Oh wait, that is exactly what you got...:D It may not be that practical of a working blade, but you can't beat the "intimidation" factor of the 20+" recurve blade with false edge.

If it turns out that it doesn't fit you for some reason, please contact me before letting it go :o

Sure thing Latticino, thanks for the post. Why do you say it isn't practical?

Mail sent on the Villager BAS.

And a cold Molson Canadian hoisted in UB's honor and memory!

Noah

Beautiful blades, what a day to get caught flat footed, and not paying attention.

No worries, HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE BILL!! Much smoke and many Heinekens this evening in honor of a truly great man.

Don't kid yourself on this. I have a UBE (Uncle Bill Especial), which is a slightly shorter version of this blade, and it's become a favorite chopper.

The only thing I didn't like about it was the scabbard: I had to be so careful not to put the upswept point through the leather that it took forever to resheath the thing. I had Terry Sisco make a quick-draw scabbard for it, which made everything perfect.

I don't have personal experiences with the Movie Model, so this opinion may be misplaced. YMMV.

Just a LOT of knife for a belt sheath thats all (please be extra careful if this is your first kuk, be sure to read the safety thread carefully). The movie model and UBE are somewhat famous for getting hung up removing or returning to the sheath. They are just wood wrapped with leather after all.

Definitely trending more towards the fighter range, though there is clearly more than enough weight to act effectively as a chopper as well. Handle and balance on mine seem to fit me well, but I've got big mitts. I'd love to see Satori go after a melon with one...

Sure you will be thrilled

Thanks guys, I'll post on the forum when I get it with my impression.

Movie Models for $95!!?? A Manjushree for $125?? A 31" Napoleon sword for an even $100? Holy Toledo! Those are incredible prices; no wonder they went so fast! Birthday Specials for sure...

One of these days I'll snag a 14" YCS Karda, and it's chandan to boot. Good grab Empty! The one I really liked was the silver mounted carved neem handled AK. Notice the standard bolster. I have some of the older (much more expensive back in the "old" days) silver mounted AK's, and I believe they have the habaki bolster.

Very nice selection today in honor of Uncle Bill.

Regards,

Norm

P.S. Now realize what is different. That was the first carved handled AK I have seen from Sher, so whoever got it got a special one. All previous carved handled AK's came from Kumar as far as I know. Whoever got it, please post pics if you can!
