Uncle Bill's new delivery service

DHL OK by me. Advantage = delivered to door

UPS sometimes , dumps on ground inside gate. I don't always see the brown truck and they don't honk or come inside the gate. Could be my sign on garage, visible from gate - NO TRESSPASSING IF GUNS ARE OUTLAWED, ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS. OH! Another reason, I don't think our UPS man likes dogs and my Blue Heeler REALLY doesn't care for that man in the brown uniform. She is pretty friendly to others. Hmmm, maybe she knows something I don't.

USPS 3/4 mile to consolidated mailbox where I pick up my mail/pkg slip, than a 12 mile round trip to post office to pick up pkg and the usual waiting in line or people gossiping with the mail clerk behind the counter.:)

I've recieved two DHL deliveries to date, they seem fine, as fast as UPS and faster than FEDEX, and the boxes both times were in great shape

Time to give Uncle a phone call, Mike.

My address is a PO Box, we have no USPS residential delivery. If mine went DHL it may get returned. Wait & see.

My little AK just got here. Triangular brown box was fine, no damage. Took the same amount of time as the old Express Mail did. Overall, I'm happy!

Neat khuk inside, too. ;)

I think we need to remember that it saves Uncle from having to drive to town and what that might mean (stop and think). I am more than willing to be a bit more tolerant if it helps him as long as the packages arrive in good condition.

FWIW, it *seems* like the new triangular boxes are a bit more sturdy than the old ones. I got several "folded in" packages through USPS.

Also, I wonder how long the Reno Indian dealer (right across the street from the Harley Davidson dealership) will stay in business offering independent warrenties on remaining stock now that Indian is out of business again?

I use USPS when POB is used. For whatever it's worth if you can give a residential address rather than pox number you parcel will come via DHL.

Thanks for the update, in the future I'll provide both for your convenience.

Does this affect the price on shipping any?
I'm in Canada, and the extra $20 has stopped me in the past.
probably a good thing - keeps me from going overboard..
:)

DHL has merged with Airborne Express. DHL used to be a fine company, but they closed their local office and kept the AE office open.

In their last delivery to me - they damaged the khukuri, and something hit the box pretty hard.

I called their 800 number on Sat. to check on an incoming package, and they told me that even though it was in town, they would wait until the delivery date to drop it off. I thought that this was strange, since they got their earlier delivery to me early.... but killed the package in their haste.
