Uncomfortable Situation

Hi All:

I had recently sent a custom knife to back to a very well known, reputable maker to have a scratch bead blasted off the clip, I am retiring it from active carry, and wanted to clean it up. I spoke with him on the phone, he said just send the knife to him, he'd take care of it. I sent along a check for shipping back to me, anyway. He received it Jan. 4th, and I did make contact with him over 2 weeks ago, when he stated the knife was cleaned up, tuned up, and ready to ship. But since then I have not received the knife nor been able to contact him to find out if it's been shipped or not. Calls and e-mails are not returned. Left a friendly, inquiring message Monday evening.

I don't want to freak out on this, but I'm getting nervous, there's my $600 knife out there SOMEWHERE. Prefer not to post his name. Does anybody out there have a clue how to handle a situation like this?

TIA,

Greg

Are you sure he's not at the Vegas show? I know all of my e-mails haven't been answered lately due to the show. Something to consider. Otherwise, I wish you luck, it's a frustrating dilema your in. I've been there myself.

You never know, it could be as simple as the maker going to the Vegas show and also staying for a bit of a break afterwords. Sometimes something like this is also health related. If you haven't heard back from him by early next week, try to contact him again. If you have no luck then come back and ask if anybody knows anything about what might have happened to him. You will have to name him to get a response.
