i am not sure if i want another x ray or night vision for a EDC knife. straight or serrated. i have access to both. decisions, decisions. BTW, the vision series is so far my favorite knives. just curious, how strong is the lock up on these?

Hey Wayne,

The lock should be of similar strength on both knives. The Night Vision is certainly the stronger knife, but unless you are a certain other BladeForums.com memeber, that shouldn't be a problem.

I can say that because I get to see all the broken knives. No structually broken ArcLock knives to date that were not deliberate or gross mishaps (by the latter, insert a scenario or two of crushing by large unnamed machinery, we think like a truck or forklift...or something similar).

For you...decisions, decisions, decisions... :D

ok, i decided(as if anyone cares), i am getting the serrated x-ray vision and another plain blade night vision. i want one to use and one for collecting:)

I'm sold on the Arc-lock. It's definately an improvement over the linerlock and best of all, it's totally ambidextrous. I have a SOG PE and a Mini X-Ray Vision (both with the Arc-Lock) and have never had any problems or complaints about them.

Yup, I'm sold on the arc lock also. Glad you got the X-Ray also...I love it:D. Got minea few weeks ago.

If you are concerned with the lock strength on a SOG folder, get yourself a Tomcat. Those are built like a bank-vault!
