I ordered a DPx HEST/F 2.0 Triple Black knife online in mid-December. It took some effort to track down a dealer still selling them, as they appear to have been a hot item. Curiously enough, the store in question is still purportedly selling the knife in question.
The dealer in question is "Off the Grid.com" and "Off the Grid Survival Store" and they have both an online and - according to their website - a brick and mortar site. Because I live in Canada and the website's commerce interface couldn't handle an order from Canada, I ended up dealing with Robert Riddlemoser, who assisted me by manually inputting the transaction (communicating with me via both direct email and phone).
That was on or about December 16th. I still have not received the knife. I have sent two emails to the address used during the transaction which have - to date- gone unanswered. Just recently, I went to the website - which is still apparently up and running - but the communication interfaces for it are down: the "insta" message option states that "We're not around, but we'd love to chat another time", and; the email option from within the website states that it "Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method." Attempted telephone calls to the number listed on the website go to an answering machine, with messages going unanswered after four days.
I would like to - and am, for the time being - give Mr. Riddlemoser and his business the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he is ill; perhaps he is on vacation. Perhaps he is swamped with business, although when I was ordering the knife, his communications were always prompt and timely.
So...the reason for this post is to enquire whether anybody else here has ANY experience - good or bad - with Mr. Riddlemoser and/or the Off the Grid Survival Store or its online presence.
As I paid a fairly significant amount for this knife, I am not going to let it go. However, I want to reconnoitre the ground before accusing anybody of anything and having an investigation started by Mastercard.
Cheers,
AJMZ
