"Under $30 blades"

crap, I just realized I don't own any less than about $50 except for the spyderco ladybug but I consider that a novelty and not really a knife. Sorry Sal.

I just got a CRKT Hammond Cruiser for $19.99 ($28 after shipping and tax) this week. So far it has been very impressive for the price.

SAK's. I own both Vics and Wengers and the Wengers have held up fine. Also, the small Becker Necker if you want to include fixed blades.

They will be releasing G-10 Byrds soon, very cool.
Good news! I would like to see that hawkbill in g10!

Can't tell you how many times I've been standing around in a knife shop and watched some poor sap who wanted a single-blade folder spend $20 or so on a no-name POS knife because it LOOKS A) tough B) ninja-like C) commando-like or D) like a knife "ought to look" in his mind - meaning it looks like a Buck 110 or something like that. Meanwhile, for the same money (or less), he could pick up a knife of very good quality such as an Opinel or, if he prefers stainless, a Victorinox Alpineer.

If you know what you're doing and you have realistic expectations about fit&finish and lock-strength, you can get a LOT of knife for $20.

All of my preferences have already been stated for the most part ie: SAKs,Moras,Opinels, etc.

The only new ones I can odd onto the list are the new Ahti/Hackmann style Butterfly knives for $18 at Ragweed, and the Brusletto Balder. (granted, that one is my wifes) Both of them fantastic little EDC blades

I love threads like these. Typically provide proof of lotsa good inexpensive blade options that aren't from China.
