Dr Larrin Thomas has made an excellent video explaining a lot of details about the optimal hardness of CPM MagnaCut.
This should help folks understand some of the decisions that are made by knife makers and manufacturers as well as some of the why and how that goes into selecting some of these heat treatments.

I liked how in depth this video went without getting off topic yet was able to touch on subjects from edge angle to retained austinite.
Should be a great video for knife folks wanting to understand some of the complexities involved.
