uneven grind strikes again

What would you do?

Keep it, use it and not care in the least. After a little hard use and a few sharpenings I bet you won't even be able to tell.

If it was something higher-end may story may change but on a user I wouldn't care at all.

If send it back either way. I had a knife from a pretty pricey, respected, USA brand that came all kinds of uneven. It made it very difficult to sharpen properly.

....which creates an imbalance leading to self destruction secondary to sympathetic vibration

That causes loss of control and yaws into the short side at around mach .97-98. Caused the loss of a few test pilots before they figured that one out.

er....what?

Isn't Boker plus the made in China line?

Caused me the loss of one UH1-D due to ground resonance back in the day.

If the knife is outsourced to a ~more affordable~ workforce I would pretty much expect it to have uneven grinds. If it were a $150 Benchmade, or the like, I would find a little variation acceptable. Once I hit the $200+ mark on FBs and the $275+ mark on folders I expect perfection but it can still be hit or miss.

It's a $100 folding knife made overseas. Don't get me wrong I like the kwaiken and have been thinking about snagging one. But if the grind was off, I wouldn't care and I'd stick it in my pocket and go about my day. I don't know if that's because I used to demand perfection from production knives or if it's because I almost exclusively buy Emersons these days.

Blah. One of my sebenzas had an uneven grind like the picture, 1/8" difference. At first I was like this is some BS and was going to bash CRK on the forum. Then I said F it and used it for a year.

Your pic's were a little slow to load and I was thinking, even for a collectors piece I'd live with it if it were the secondary bevel (cutting edge) but with it being the primary bevel like that and such a big difference- yea send that back.

Thanks everyone. fwiw I did exchange it and got one with perfect grind back, very pleased with it now paired with my flipper kwaiken!

My experience with chinese made bokers is they are poor, especially the grinds. I've even had the luxury of going through three each of two models w/o finding one with sufficient fit and finish to buy. The only one i ever bought (online-i fell in love with the tactical looks) had such a poor grind, the local gun show sharpener wouldn't touch it.
