Unexpected knife cleaning

Following an afternoon bike ride I sat on my screened porch and sliced a couple peaches with my Case pen knife while cooling down. When I did laundry tonight I forgot that I had slipped the Case back in the pocket of the shorts I was wearing, and found it at the bottom of the washing machine when I transferred the load to the dryer.

Other than a bit of change to the patina, it appears none worse for the experience.

Here is what it looked like after peach duty last night:

A better shot, showing the patina on both blades:

And here is how it looks after a tumble in the GE:

Doug, after that I would just give that lovely knife a wee bit of love...a mineral oil wash out through the joints and just give the composite scales a nice rub with a cloth with the remaining mineral oil on it.
Lucky!

Thanks Duncan, that is exactly what I did.

Next step, will be cutting more fruit and vegetables tomorrow.

CASE Pen a really useful pocket friend. So light in the pocket, it's easy to see how it could get a trip to the washing machine by accident! I've heard of animals getting accidental washes, kittens and a badger cub too! The cub came into a kitchen in Britain, climbed aboard the open washing machine as it looked inviting and got washed, no harm done though:D:thumbup:

Perhaps a way to make you knife more "pocket worn". Good to see that the knife has the quality to hold up for a tour of the washing machine.
