Unfare trolling warnoing.

that edge is way too thin for anything other than light kitchen duty. no wonder it bent cutting wood. why on earth would you do something like that and ruin a good knife  . its nobodys fault but your own that the blade done that.

+1

Its a super high bevel, it should have been obvious that was going to happen.

I am wondering whom did I complain to?

It seems like all same crowd from Busse forum. What is the point of complaining then?

I do not want to discuss me or INFI or Busse. I complain about unfair warning. Warning was made about particular post. I explained my position and what next? Will I have some answer? And from whom?

This "like axe" explanation does not good enough to me to justify calling me trolling.

See:
Also normal 30 degree angle is not recommended by Busse for INFI - considered as paper thin edge, should be over 40 degree (like for axe), otherwise it is too easy to bend.

So it is clear that I am talking about angle 40 degree like for axes, not edge like for axes. And I see nothing wrong with this - 40 degree is angle on axe edge.

I can understand that me saying that edge retention is not so great is abrasive for Busse but I am not laying - I did tested it several times and this is well known! It was answer on topic started by TheFighter88. It is not trolling in any way (until you are Busse true believer).

Thanks, Vassili.

from what i can see, the WARNING you got was not enough. last time it was a kershaw knife, this time its a busse. i can get a busse sharper than what you ever will without going that thin. like i said, you took that edge way too thin. i think you need to find another hobby and quit trolling.

For nice neat cross sectional views like you are trying to get try dental putty. We us it to verify the radius on the tip of anvils in our machines. We also us it to verify angles on parts and on parts at customers sites. They mold the dental putty around the part or profile and send it in. We slice it thin and project it out on an optical comparator for measurement.

That said you keep digging the hole deeper. Just walk away.

This is like Israel & Hamas, simply talking past each other - no matter the truth of a given statement from one side, the other side will only see it through the filter of / colored by the history of the participants. They remain locked in struggle, while everyone else gets bored and walks away.

Vassili has pissed me off plenty with his attitude but at least he is trying to inject some objectivity into the overall discussion regarding knives and steel; he may be wrong but he does more to verify his objectivity than most that I see here.

That infraction for trolling was crap :thumbdn:

To say that your prior posts should have no bearing is ridiculous. For most of us, the only thing we really know about other posters is their on-line history. It provides a context for everything we read, and helps us identify the intent/meaning behind a post.
It is not trolling in any way (until you are Busse true believer).
Even this statement alone shows that you harbor a grudge against Busse fans. It comes off as bitter and vengeful, as did the statement that you received a warning for. I for one say this as someone who has no interest in Busse knives whatsoever.

Say what?

wrong. most of the posters in this thread are not from the "busse crowd".

how many answers would you like? are you just waiting for one you like?

this makes no sense. you're talking in circles.

and i notice you never did respond to my questions in the thread in general.

Vasilli---With all due respect...you might want to give your knife hobby a break.

well at least the next time he will get more than a warning even though it should have been more since the kershaw incident. lycosa, this time i have to agreee with you. and i'm not from the busse crowd, i just know how to sharpen knives and get them sharp without having to take the edge thinner than what the steel can handle.

Well, I can certainly attest to Richards sharpening prowess. He turned my ZDP Caly III and Yojimbo into Mach 3 razors lol, all kinds of bald patches on my arms now, yet the edge is very durable.

All arguments aside, Richard's legit w the paper wheels ;)

Vasilli,

Please return your GW to the Busse Combat Shop at your earliest convenience. We will be more than happy to inspect it, and will be able, at that time, to determine the actual angle of the edge at the point where you had trouble. If there is a problem with the heat treat, we will gladly replace your blade. If not, we will regrind it to fit your needs.

All is well. . . . Let's Drink!!!

A very generous offer, vassilli.

As for the warning/infraction, I agree that it should have been more.

Consider yourself lucky, and move on.

Next time, you may be escorted to the door. People here have had enough of you.

Jerry Busse, again, demonstrates the manner of a true Gentleman and a Great business man.
Let's Drink!! :D

Once again why buying Busse is not about INFI only  :D

Wow. There are a lot of makers out there that wouldn't take a personal interest in things like this. Jerry, you are a credit to the business.

I would think that an axe would require a thicker edge anyway. Hacking and chopping with a thin edge would lead to excessive wear on the blade and reduce the life of it. With a knife, I would think that you would want to avoid chopping wood with it unless a) you really needed it in an emergency or b) the knife was designed with chopping in mind.
