Unfinished

Sorry, your knife being different than 'unfinished' didn't register with me...I just need to read with better comprehension and look at the photos. BTW, I have a 345 that's very much like yours.

Always good to meet another Preston, not many of us around. It was my father's name, I'm junior.
 
Back in the mid to late 1980's, while not normal, it was not uncommon to find 300 series knives that were not sharpened. I have bought a few and took them back to the store for exchanges.
