unfortunately no :(

That is good news that they will sell you a new blade upon request, given that you send the knife in of course. If I can't have an insingo blade, then I still want an extra 21 blade for my beater Large Micarta.

i'm a bit disappointed today when CRK emailed me back. What i wanted to know was if they could sell me just the blades for the sebenza and you guessed it the NOPE. wouldn't it be nice if we could just buy a couple of the blades to change in between :D polish on monday stone wash Wednesday and maybe insingo on friday ;)

Why not just do it the correct way and buy more knives? Then you will have your polish for monday, stone wash for wed, insigno for friday. And even better, you don't have to do anything, just grab the knife, stick it in your pocket and go!

Are we talking about having several blades (fitted by CRK) so you can swap them in and out from day to day? If yes, does any knife company we know do this?

Kershaw, Case, Timber Wolf, Gerber, Elk Ridge . . . the list goes on. None of them are comparable to a CRK, however.

I know that those companies make knives that ship with interchangeable blades...are you saying they'll fit extra blades to a regular knife so the owner can Lego the blades?

No. But their tolerances are such that they don't need to fit extra blades to a regular knife. The knife is designed to accept interchangeable blades from the outset.

Benchmade has an excellent blade "replacement" program but they will not sell an individual blade.

If you order a knife from CRK you can order an extra blade for it. There is probably a limit but I did not inquire.

Is anyone aware if they will change the blade to one of their dealers exclusives? i.e. I have a Lg Sebbie and what I really wanted was the TNK Tanto blade version, but its always out of stock. Would CRK be willing to install that blade (for a price) and also retuirn my old blade to me?

That's something you'd have to ask CRK directly. But if I had to venture a guess, I'd say the answer is "no" due to the exclusive nature of the relationship between CRK and the dealer.

As others have stated, you can send in your knife and get another blade fitted to it. The new blade will come with a new set of washers+a new blade bushing, that have to be used with the new blade in order to assure CRK trademark tolerances.

I can tell you this 1Shot, I have one of the limited TNK Polished tanto Umnumzaans and want a standard blade for it. Heather said 135.oo and about a month wait time. So I am reluctantly sending it in this weekend. I say reluctantly because after buying my Umnumzaan, nothing else has found itself in my pocket anymore. Which is a shame because I have a number of desirable, nice blades. It's true what people say, almost a year with my Umnumzaan, and I'm still in the "honeymoon phase"! Hands down my most favorite knife to date!

Are they returning the tanto blade to you when they have fitted a new standard profile blade? Pure curiosity, not stirring up the thread. :)

I have had this conversation with Heather with respect to buying a damascus blade for a knife already owned. Yes, you get both blades back.

I think someone asked if not here in another thread, about the card. If you ask, you can also get a new card "fitted for new ??? blade on date".

Unless I am mistaken the customer originally asked if he could purchase an Insingo blade for his existing (non Insingo) bladed knife. I told him we are not offering just the Insingo blade at this time and I don’t know if we ever will. We will happily re-blade any Sebenza 21 (or Classic 2000 as they are the same blade) with a damascus or standard 21 S35VN blade. There is no limit on how may knives we will do this with. What we won’t do, and I think this is where the confusion came in, is replace a standard 21 blade with a Tanto or Insingo blade. If a knife originally had one of these blades we will offer a replacement of the original type or of a 21 S35VN blade. We will also not sell the carbon fiber faces on their own in case that comes up. I hope this clears things up but if not email me at crkinfo@chrisreeve.com as I do not frequently check the forums.
Thank you,
Heather
