Hello, not entirely sure this is the perfect place for this post but hopefully someone can help anyway. I am in the process of building a forge (pretty much a brick oven covered in adobe) and I need ungalvanized pipe for the tuyere. I have searched high and low and cannot seem to find any leads to where I might find some pipe that wont kill me when put under heat. Any suggestions are welcome, Thanks.

I don't believe Black Pipe for Gas applications is galvanized. Should be right next to the galvanized pipe.

Try a metal recycler in your area if you have one. I got a nice piece of stainless pipe to use as a muffle for under $5. Sometimes they'll let you dig around for stuff.

Thank you for the replies, I have not yet checked Lowes but still fear that in this area, useful tools and materials are all but non-existent. I've tried two Home Depots, two Ace Hardware's, a number of plumbing suppliers and still no luck. But I'll definitely try Lowes. Thanks.

I don't think that's entirely uncommon, some other folks have complained about this. Black iron pipe isn't available in every region it seems.

You can remove the zinc from galvanized pipe if you can't find what you're looking for.
