Hi, im sure everyone is well aware of the 43MC and 47MC that was available a short while ago. I had ordered a 43MC and when I ordered there was a message which said it was in stock. I ordered on July 8. It is now July 31 and I havent recieved anything. They emailed me about five emails with an "update" and each email has said the following

BM43 is not in stock and may be several weeks until delivery. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail us by replying to this note or telephone us during normal eastern USA business hours at:
301 486 0901 or 800 338 6799

Thank you for your order!

Now its not a matter of patience. When I placed the order it was in stock. They gave me an excuse telling me that its not real time and I probably slipped through the cracks before somebody had updated it to not being in stock. Is that my problem though? I dont feel the customer should have to worry about that. I work in a business where I take care of customers and I surely dont blame them for problems on my part.

Has anyone else had any problems with them such as this? I understand completely that these are very difficult models to come by but come on now... after five emails saying "It might be a few weeks" it gets under the skin.

:thumbdn::grumpy:

That happened to me once as well. Really annoyed me, so I cancelled the order. They're usually much better about that kind of stuff. I can only assume their website is not live inventory, so if there's one in stock, and someone buys it, but no one updates the site to reflect that it's no longer in stock, that's how that mistake occurs.

It's annoying I know, but at least they're telling you now it's not in stock, try the same thing on another site and you'll need 15 emails just to find out it's not in stock.

agreed smc, I cancelled my order also so if anybody wants a 43MC go for it... wish you the best

My experience was positive. I ordered a ZDP Jess Horn and got it within a couple of days. I also ordered a ZDP Delica, stated as on back order, and got the emails you describe.

I think it is a regrettable problem, but many online retailers have problems keeping the inventory up to "real time."

I'll use them again but, based on your feedback, it may be with a live phone call.

Good luck!

lessons learned pakora, next time you might wanna call them up first before u place your order to make sure they have em

I have never had a bad experience with them. I am sorry when someone does. I have been dealing with them for years.

Same experience here. Never a single problem, and I've spent a bit of money with them...

I can't speak for other sites, but our site automatically updates every 10 minutes. Is it "real-time"? No, but very close. We have had two folks order the last of the same knife before. First order gets it, but site will not update for a few minutes, so second guy thinks it is in stock, although it was already sold (by minutes). The system is not perfect, but works well until something like this happens. Just a little illumination on how our site works.

I think the issue here has more to do with the super rarity of the BM43MC and BM47MC, vs any other knife you can get all day long. Hopefully Benchmade will churn out a few more so we can snatch them up, hopefully from NGK;)

Sorry you feel that way about the experience.

Honestly, I don't think Knifecenter did bad here.

Numerous website are not 100% realtime. Things like that happen with small batches of rare knives, like for ex. the ZDP Delica.
When did you get the first mail about the item not being in stock. Did you mail or call them to ask if they would be getting more?

My first experience with the KnifeCenter was in 1997, it was my first international order. (Buck 110) ;)

To me, Knife Center and New Graham Knives are both as good as it gets. I have done business with knifecenter for a longer time but I would not hesitate to reccomend both of them to family or friends.

I typically call and talk to an operator at knifecenter so experiences like the one Mr. Dye spoke about won't happen with high demand knives. Everyone I've spoke to has been very professional and helpfull.

I've even had them go to the wharehouse and check a knife for the correct steel as we've all seen knives made in different steels from year to year. They change at times faster than the companies themselves lag time on catalogs and websites won't give you an answer.

Is An avelanche 440V, or a newer S30V? They'll go check for you.

They both also kept the prices down on certain sprint runs when other companies corrected prices upward to take advantage of demand. They are both very fair with pre orders and waiting lists.

I'm sorry you had trouble with knife center but I think it's the rare exception rather than the rule.

I got UPS packages from both companies delivered today in fact :')

For the knife center address complaints to a Mr. Korn. A very fair man IMO. Joe L.

My experiences with www.knifecenter.com - most recently last week - have been excellent. Speed of shipping, products in stock, clean boxes, no hassle returns. Great communication.

Consistently over the years one of the very best knife dealers on the web.

i've had a similar experiance with 1sks, i tried to order both vesions of the lil' temp in PE which said in stock and that was over six weeks ago and i havn't recieved anything i emailed them several times and never heard from them so i had to called them

i have done a lot of deals with knifecenter with never a problem at all, imho knifecenter, NGK, and 1SKS are the top 3 'net dealers,

My experience with knife center is not turning out to be a good one. Is this company so busy they can't confirm an order via email...? Thier website has a log on and after registering it still won't work. Oh well, gottta be more than one knife dealer out there...
