In another thread I started asking for advice on my first ZT (I now have an 0801 inbound), a user posted a pic of the ZT0562. This knife was not even on my radar, but after doing a little research I got really excited. This knife ticks a lot of boxes for me, and I want one! I need another knife like Gov Chris Christie needs another hamburger, but I could easily see myself moving this knife to the top of my "to buy" list. The only problem is that NO ONE seems to have one.

So, smart denizens of BladeForums, what is the deal with the ZT0562? Is it as cool as it seems? Why is it so hard to find? When will more be available? Anyone got any pics comparing it to a Manix or a ZT0801? I need another knife like Gov Chris Christie needs another hamburger, but I think I would move this knife to the top of the list if it was easy to find.

Not sure what the "deal" is youa re referring to.
It might be, but Ti framelocks are not everyone's cup of tea.
Because it might be popular and people like it, want to see what it's like. I'd also guess that it isn't made by the truckload.
As soon as they are in stock again?
ok...?
;)

they are hard to find, but i actually just ordered one for myself last night from a dealer on ebay. there is still one available for a relatively decent price.

I see that. Thanks for the tip. Have you dealt with the guy on ebay before? Do you know if he is legit?

OK. I did ask for that! :D

ive never bought from him, but ive seen him around on ebay for a while and his reviews are numerous and high so i believe he is legit, and i received my tracking number this morning.

I love my 0562. Picked it up off the exchange a few months ago for a great price. Here's a quick and dirty comparison of it next to my manix 2. Let me know if you want any other angles on it.

I just scored the CF version today on my lunch break.
They just so happened to get 2 in at (local sporting goods store) and after I flipped one in person, I was sold.

I think my 0560BW flips a little smoother, but that's most likely because I've broken it in Vs the 562CF I just got today.
Also, I think at certain angles, the heavier blade of the 0560 adds some momentum and helps it lock up.

Anyway, yeah, the 0562, G10 or CF version, is a fantastic folder, just like most of ZTs non-assisted blades.

Once I decided I wanted one it took about 2 weeks of checking the usual suspects on their websites before I found one last week.
The Knifeworks one mentioned in another post is for Pre-order.
For what's it's worth, as much as I like the 0562CF, I still like my 0801BW more.

Thanks!!! The comparison pic is greatly appreciated.

This website is such an enabler. I am so close to buying my second ZT in 24 hours...

Oh yeah it's pretty terrible. Since I started browsing this site I've convinced myself that I just HAVE to have all of these different knives and that I'll definitely use all of them and not just carry my favorite every day. :P

I have my 0562 in hand right now and it's currently my favorite go-to knife. I bought mine from the ebay retailer you mentioned above and got excellent service. I've also purchased a Skyline 1760ckt from him because I think he bought up the entire stock. The only caution to be aware of when dealing with Caledon is that he ships from Eastern Canada and you have to allow a little extra time to get to CONUS.

In terms of unicorn status, I'm curious how big ZT's initial 0562 run was. My serial number is 1146...has anyone seen a serial higher than 1200? It could be that we're dealing with a fairly small production run of knives.

I like this knife so much that I'll probably buy another Elmax/G10 version just to leave in the box...so I can feel free to pimp out my user!

Houston, we may have a problem.
My CF is 1146

Gollum. Is his the CF? I would assume that his isn't which explains same serial number. CF and g10 runs each use their own serials. Or they should anyways

Maybe a neat coincidence then?
I was curious about that if each variant of a model had there own series of serial numbers.

Yeah, mine is the standard G10 with Elmax...I'm pretty sure each run would have a unique set of numbers. That is quite a coincidence though.

Yes, as far as I know the 0562 is standard production but I think I read somewhere that a ZT standard production run starts at 1200 parts.
