"I have no idea about the history of this knife. tried to do research with no luck. think its one of a kind. it came out of storage of an woman who traveled the world 65 years ago when she passed way."

"this is very old, i know that because the handle which is made of wood is petrifying."

"when i first saw it for some reason i felt is was used to cut hands and feet off, don't ask me why."

"the blade looks like it has pitted from age, but they are not pits. they are permanent blood stains left on the blade. when you leave blood on a blade and don't clean it left for a very long time it will create small tiny circle black spots, not pitted pits would leave a tiny pit."

Step right up, Cantinistas. Only 45 minutes to bid.

Got a number so we can go look, assuming it's not yours of course? :p ;) :D

I don't think it's mine (but who can be sure?).

Can't find that one, but did find the khukri sword

This is what happens when you tell the kamis you want it to be "just a little bigger" :D

I like the pic of Yangdu with the Janawar Katne better though.

It looks like the auction was removed. I searched by the item number and go nothing, then searched for 'petrifying' and got two books. Looks like someone called BS.

there is nothing more Americana than the she-mullet:D
I'm thinking she could get work as the girls' highschool gym coach in a 1980's bawdy sex comedy. Or maybe the tougher-'n-nails trucker with a wreckless heart of gold. Ya know, the kind of gal that would stretch her rig across the road in front of a smokey so that Burt Reynolds could get away and flub up some more lines;)
Just thinkin' out loud...kinda.

Jake

Thanks to PZ for the link. Our millions-of-years-old knife went for $11.00. Old stuff just doesn't fetch the big $$ any more. :( Or maybe it was the "bite" that the T. Rex took out of the blade.

I liked the globe-trotting dead lady and blood spots.

HURRY, HURRY , HURRY!! eBay item 652 590 4992:

"Traditional, blue native pakka wood handle. 22" overall and a weigh of 1 lb. Genuine military issue."

With the clear-cutting of the blue pakka wood forests of eastern Nepal, this may be your very last chance at one of these beauties. Special khukuri issued to the Blue Royal Guard Regiment. Easily 1 to 200 years old.

Wasn't it on the cover of " Big Knives and Burly Chicks " magizine?

Don't act like you guys don't subscribe .....

The UK vendor replies:

"Dear Sir. I am not quite sure what you mean by its spine. If you mean the edge of the blade opposite the sharp edge, that is approx 1 mm thick. If you mean the handle, that is 2.5 mm thick."

1 mm? Are you sure he didn't say cm?

Ah, the joys of completely eliminating confusion through metrification.

I bet he meant cm, or would have if he knew what he was talking about.
